Pasadena Playhouse has announced casting and creative team for the Los Angeles premiere of the Richard Nelson, Richard Pevear, and Larissa Volokhonsky translation of Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov coming to the Playhouse June 1 through June 26; the press opening is Sunday, June 5 at 5 p.m. 

Freeform has renewed breakout comedy “Single Drunk Female,” starring Sofia Black D’Elia and Ally Sheedy, for a second season. Additionally, the young adult brand ordered wanderlust dramedy “While You Were Breeding,” based on the memoir from Kristin Newman (“Only Murders in the Building”), to series.

 OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival Miami, internationally acclaimed as one of the largest LGBTQ+ cultural festivals in the world, will open its 24th edition with the first Florida live screening of “B-Boy Blues” (2021) at The Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater on April 22 at 7 p.m. Producer Circle members and filmmakers will enjoy a 5:30 p.m. pre-event Filmmakers Soirée. The film will be followed by a live Q & A and an opening night party featuring cast from the film, filmmakers and Vanguard honoree Venezuelan actress, model, and philanthropist Patricia Velásquez.

The 2022 Yale Drama Series Prize, one of the theater world’s most prestigious playwriting prizes, will be awarded to Seayoung Yim for her play Jar of Fat.

San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) announced that Sam Woodhouse will step down as Artistic Director in September 2022 after leading the company for 46 years. At the end of this season, San Diego REP will have produced 333 productions under Woodhouse’s leadership - more than 50 of them were world premieres.

After 3 sold out weeks in December, Street Corner Arts' production of STRANGE, BUT PERFECT was set to extend for 4 more weeks, but due to the rise in Covid-19 cases and escalation to Stage 5 guidelines, we've made the decision to transition to a Digital Extension. A recorded performance filmed in one-take with multiple cameras is available for On-Demand viewing now until February 28th, 2022.

B-Boy Blues: The Play opened with sold-out performances for its off-Broadway debut at the Puerto Rican Traveling Theatre/47th Street Theatre in Manhattan. Starring Damone Williams and Jaidus Mondesir, this limited engagement, produced by Downtown Urban Arts Festival (DUAF) in association with It's All Jood, Inc., runs through December 11.
