The Shakespear Festival 2010, which began in June, will conclude in September. KING LEAR opened on June 12 and closes September 23rd. THE TAMING OF THE SHREW opened June 16th and will close on September 26th. THE MADNESS OF GEORGE III opens on June 19th and closes September 24th. There is also a performance of TWELFTH NIGHT & AS YOU LIKE IT on August 16th as part of the Summer Shakespeare Intensive for High School Students. All of these productions will be at the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre.

From July 14th to August 22nd, the Old Globe Theatre will host ROBIN AND THE 7 HOODS - A NEW MUSICAL. This is the world premiere of a Broadway-bound musical comedy that takes the audience back to that sexy era in pop culture where "Mad Men" reigned supreme, martinis flowed freely and the songs of Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen ("My Kind of Town Chicago Is)," "Ain't That a Kick in the Head," "Call Me Irresponsible" and many more) ruled the night. Take the writer of CURTAINS (Rupert Holmes), add the director of THE DROWSY CHAPERONE and taught Monty Python how to dance in SPAMALOT (Casey Nicholas), and top it off with a sexy, soaring score of classic Cahn and Van Heusen songs and you get ROBIN AND THE 7 HOODS, a new musical that takes the Robin Hood legend and gives it an early-sixties spin. When Robbo, a suave, fast-rising entrepreneur in Chicago's sophisticated nightclub scene, finds himself wanted by both sides of the law, he and his merry band quickly learn that a few wrongs - and a few songs - could make things right.

Marion Ross ("Happy Days," "The Drew Carey Show," "Brothers & Sisters") returns to the Globe to star with her life partner, Paul Michael, in Joe DiPietro's THE LAST ROMANCE. The play runs from July 30th to September 5th at the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre. A crush can make anyone feel young again - even a widower named Ralph. On an ordinary day in a routine life, Ralph decides to take a different path on his daily walk...one that leads him to an unexpected second chance at love. Relying on a renewed boyish charm, Ralph attempts to woo the elegant, but distant, Carol. Defying Carol's reticence - and his lonely sister's jealousy - Ralph embarks on the trip of a lifetime, and regains a happiness that seemed all but lost. The Last Romance is a heart-warming comedy about the transformational power of love.

Starting September 14th and through November 7th, Neil Simon's BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS and BROADWAY BOUND will be performed in a a rotating repertory schedule. In BRIGHTON BEACH MEMORIS, meet Eugene Morris Jerome: he's 15, living in late-1930s Brooklyn, and thinks of little else but playing for the Yankees and girls. But he's more suited to being a writer than a shortstop, and the girl of his dreams could never be the girl of his reality. His witty, perceptive commentary about his life, and the struggles of his overworked father, overbearing mother, overconfident brother, overcrowded house, and overly-gorgeous cousin, make this journey through puberty poignant, insightful and delightful. In BROADWAY BOUND, Eugene Morris Jerome ponders on if he could put family ahead of career. The career path he's on is writing rather than baseball; but he is still obsessed with un-gettable girls - and what were once the innocent musings of a teenage boy are now the bread and butter of his writing career. When he and his brother Stanley get their big break as radio writers, and their family's struggles become writing-fodder for anyone to hear, he is forced to face the reality that even while living at home, with adulthood, comes consequences.
