Circle Circle dot dot Presents THE BREAK-UP/BREAK-DOWN 6/25-7/11

New Collaborative Community-Based Theatre Circle Circle dot dot's launch-production of an original devised comedy written and directed by Katherine Harroff.

"The Break Up Break Down" is the launch production of the newly conceived Theatre Workshop called Circle Circle dot dot. For our first production, we decided to explore the revealingly raw aftermath of heartbreak- and make fun of it! We are a group of performing artists who have combined our knowledge of puppetry, dance, music, performance art, and community-based play-development to devise a completely original comedy where we ask our audiences to laugh whole-heartedly at our pain. We welcome you to the start of our relationship with San Diego as its newest original Collaborative Community-Based Experimental Company with a never-before-seen roller-coaster of a Comedic Production. Join us for what is sure to be the wildest party of the summer!

Katherine Harroff (Artistic Director of CCdd, Playwright and Director of "The Break-Up/Break-Down") Katherine has come to San Diego after obtaining her Masters Degree from Arizona State University where she studied in Performance, Directing, Community-Based Theatre, Theatre for Social Change, Theatre for Young Audiences, and Playwrighting. She has completed extensive training with the SITI Company in Saratoga, NY, and is certified in the Viewpoint/Suzuki methods. She has completed over 20 produced devised theatre projects that have been staged in both Arizona and California. She recently helped Playwrights Project of San Diego develop their "Telling Stories: Giving Voice to Foster Youth" program that creates plays from the life stories of foster youth, with the help of Drama Therapy and Theatre for Social Change. Through this program with support from The San Diego Foundation, she wrote the piece entitled "Files.". Katherine has founded Circle Circle dot dot to create a venue where she and her fellow company members may be able to devise Community-Based original works that are both unique, entertaining, and meaningful.

Ashley Toolan (Executive Director of CCdd and Assistant Director of "The Break-Up/Break-Down") received her BA in Theater from UMASS- Amherst in 2006. She has spent the last 5 years living in San Diego and working for Tony Robbins and exploring the local theater scene. She was last seen in Jeffrey (Looking Glass Theater). Next up she will be attending Boston University in the fall to begin her Masters in Arts Administration.

AdrIan Brown (Stage Manager) is a San Diego native that grew up with a passion for filmmaking. Growing up he would write, direct, act and edit his own short films that earned recognition at the San Diego Student Film Festival. He is finishing up his studies at Grossmont College where he has appeared in several productions including Hamlet and a touring improv show that featured CCDD member Evan Kendig. Along with stage managing The Breakup Break-Down, Adrian is hard at work on writing his first feature length movie and developing a sketch comedy web series for the troupe Captain Batch along with Evan Kendig.

Brendan Cavalier (Tommy and Managing Director of CCdd) Brendan graduated from SDSU with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering in 2006, and has been a working engineer in San Diego since then. He is also one of the founding and current members of Triad Productions est. 2007. He's excited to take on the additional responsibility of Managing Director for CCdd as well as being a cast/company member. His recent credits include Crimes of the Heart directed by Katie Rodda at Scripps Ranch, The Country Club directed by Teri Brown at OnStage, Dog Sees God directed by Kym Pappas for Innermission Productions, The Last Days of Judus Iscariot directed by Steven Schmitz, and The Lonesome West directed by Adam Parker for Triad Productions.

PatRick Kelly (Jay and Technical Director of CCdd) His favorite credits include Fences and History Boys Cygnet Theater; As Much as you can Diversionary, Last Days of Judas Iscariot, Shopping and F**king, Mending Monologues Triad Productions; Christmas Is coming up town Common Ground Theater; Ain't you heard Ira Aldridge Players, Beauty and the Beast Starlight; Dutchman Lynx; Angels In America, Honk, Rumors, and Twelfth Night SDSU. He has also appeared as Dr. Zoolittle for the San Diego Zoo and is an Emcee for San Diego Indie-fest. Patrick has a B.A. in Theater Performance from San Diego State University.

Crystal Mercado (Kaitlyn) is a 2008 graduate of Arizona State University's Theatre for Youth MFA program. She has taught theatre, creative drama, puppetry, and theatre for social change with students of all ages. Her work in San Diego includes stage manager for The Old Globe's trans-border, bilingual production of Romeo y Juliet/a, and for Native Voices' playwriting retreat. She has been Asst. Education Director at Young Audiences of San Diego overseeing arts education residencies. She also teaches theatre in K-12 schools all over San Diego. This is Crystal's professional acting debut in San Diego, and she is immensely grateful for the opportunity to play!

Soroya Rowley (Missy) Favorite credits include Anonymous directed by Monica Stuft, First Lady Suite directed by Carrie Klewin, Much Ado About Nothing directed by Richard Seer, Glass Cord directed by Claudio Raygoza, and Redrowning Ophelia directed by Katie Rodda. In addition to acting Soroya works in a variety of grass roots, collaborative performance projects including playing Ring Mistress Fraulein Frank with Bad Medicine Circus and co-singer songwriter for the band Cypress Project. Soroya recently obtained her B.A. in Theatre Arts from the University of San Diego.

Jacque Wilke (Cecily) is thrilled to be a part of CCDD's first show! Local theater credits include: Madi in Fair Use, Barbara Ellen in The New Century and Anita Bryant in Anita Bryant Died for your Sins (Diversionary Theater), Nell Gwynne, Lady D, and Maria in Or, at MOXIE, The Girl in The Seven Year Itch and Susan in The Heidi Chronicles (New Village Arts), Patsy in Side Man (Bang Productions), Helen/Terri/Hilda in He Said, She Said (Laterthanever) Mistletoe, Music, and Mayhem and Suzette in Don't Dress for Dinner (North Coast Rep). She is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts the recipient of the Charles Jellinger Award for Best Actress.

Evan Kendig (Alvie) Evan has been performing for San Diego Audiences for 2 years. He has collaborated with a variety of professionals throughout Northern and Southern California and studied in programs like California State Summer School of the Arts (‘03 & ‘04) San Joaquin Delta College, and Grossmont College Theatre Arts Department. His most recent credit is James in Ion Theatre's The Lieutenant of Inishmore Directed By Claudio Raygoza, another of his favorite roles includes Matt in Innermission Production's Dog Sees God Directed by Kym Pappas.

Julio Jacobo (Cupid) Julio is an alumni of SDSU where he majored in theatre. He also helped co-found their improv troupe Iota Eta Pi. He is thrilled to be playing Cupid and to be working with the great and talented members of Circle Circle Dot Dot. He's been seen acting on stage at SDSU and also with local theatre company Triad Productions, but you can also catch him on stage doing stand-up comedy at the Brass Rail, and recently at North Coast Repertory Theatre in Casa Del Haha.

Melissa Coleman-Reed (Mel) Credits include: The Vagina Monologues (Inner Mission Productions); As Much As You Can (Diversionary Theatre); U.S. Drag (ion theatre company); Tony and Cleo (6th@Penn); The Tempest / Medea / Moby Dick (Old Dominion University) Melissa has studied with: Siti Company (Los Angeles / New York); Larry Moss (LA); Chekhov Studio International (LA) and The Actor's Temple (London).

Samantha Ginn (Sandra) graduated from Sonoma State University with her B.A. in Theatre Arts. Some productions include "Plays by Young Writers" (Playwrights Project), The Maiden's Prayer and The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (Triad Productions), Dog Sees God and The Vagina Monologues (InnerMission Productions), All This and Moonlight (Scripps Ranch Theatre) Noises Off (Whittier Centre Theatre) and The Velveteen Rabbit as an actor mentor (North Coast Rep Theatre School). Sam also enjoys her life working in a pre-school, where some of the best acting in town can be seen.

Wendy Savage (Lucy) studied at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. She has taken the stage in the Bay Area, NY and San Diego. SD Favorites: Dog Sees God(Dir:Kym Pappas), The Vagina Monologues (Dir:Carla Nell) & A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant & A Prayer(Dir: Kym Pappas), A Fish Without It's Flippers & A View Unassisted (Dir: Dane Stauffer), Blondes (Dir: Kevin Six), etc. Silver Screen highlights: She chanted in the Greek Chorus in Werner Herzog's My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done and was a part of the award winning short film Probe directed by Roman Koenig.

Kyle Sorrell (Ivan) is pleased to be collaborating with Circle Circle dot dot for their launch production. Local roles include: Ross in Macbeth, and Padraic in The Lieutenant of Inishmore. Local readings include Dr. Bates in The Andersonville Trials with North Coast Rep. and Bassanio in Merchant of Venice with Intrepid Shakespeare Company. Kyle has also appeared with Arizona Theatre Company (Jake Laurents in It's a Wonderful Life and Sebastian in Twelfth Night), Southwest Shakespeare Company (Trinculo in The Tempest, Orlando in As You like It, Edmund in King Lear), and Childsplay (Christian in Cyrano, Elliot in Eric and Elliot, Templeton in Charlotte's Web.) More favorites include Tucker in Pursuit of Happiness at Actors Theatre, Veniticelli in Amadeus at Phoenix Theatre, Richmond in Richard III at Shakespeare Sedona, and Mark in Trainspotting with Stray Cat Theatre.

ABOUT CIRCLE CIRCLE DOT DOT: We are a group of performance-artists, writers, directors, puppeteers, designers, and musicians who have come together to function as a Collaborative Community-Based Theatre. We are both collaborative within our company and with outside artists who are willing to give additional perspective to a theatrical experience. We create each performance completely from scratch by collecting stories and interviews with members of our community, and creating a script that is flushed out in workshop rehearsals before ever hitting a stage. We take stories that are informative and insane, as well as thought-provoking and delusional in order to bridge gaps in communication and understanding of our fellow man.
