Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts Announces 2012-13 Season: SMOKEY JOE'S CAFE, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and More

The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts (CCPA) commemorates its 20th anniversary in the 2012-2013 Season. Engelbert Humperdinck, who performed in the CCPAs first season, returns to kick-start the theaters 2012-2013 Season with concerts on August 18 and 19.

On January, 13, 1993, the CCPA debuted as Southern Californias newest and most innovative theater. Since then, the theater has become a cultural landmark for accessible and affordable world-class entertainment. 

To mark its 20th anniversary on Sunday, January 13, 2013, the CCPA presents a performance by Grammy-nominated Pop singer-songwriter Neil Sedaka, who has charmed generations of fans with hits that he wrote and performed himself (Breaking Up Is Hard to Do, Laughter in the Rain, and Bad Blood) as well as those he penned for others (Captain & Tennilles Love Will Keep Us Together and Clay AikensSolitaire).

The 2012-2013 Season is filled with the greatest entertainers in music, dance, Broadway, and comedy. Country sensation LeAnn Rimes, Grammy winner Los Lobos, Tony-winning Tap dance legend Savion Glover, and comedians Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood are some of the popular performers scheduled to appear at the CCPA in coming months. 

Special attractions feature Shaolin Warriors, L.A. Theatre Works Jane Austens Pride & Prejudice, and American Englishs The Complete Beatles Tribute. Favorite acts returning to the CCPA include Colors of Christmas, saxophonist Dave Koz, and Rob Kapilow with his acclaimed What Makes It Great? series.

The 2012-2013 Broadway Series features the Rock n Roll celebration Smokey Joes Cafe, the Irish extravaganza Rhythm of the Dance, and the Tony-winning musical Fiddler on the Roof. The Memory Lane Series showcases Mitzi Gaynors My Life Behind the Sequins, The 54th Anniversary of The Folk Reunion, Tribute to Glenn Miller & The Vocal Groups (featuring the Tex Beneke Orchestra, The Four Freshmen, The Four Lads, The Lindy Sisters, and String of Pearls), and In the Mood. 

The Classical Series offers performances by the award-winning Chamber music ensemble Ahn Trio, the dynamic Miró Quartet, and the acclaimed China National Symphony Orchestra. 

Patrons receive discounts by subscribing to one or more series packages: Broadway, Memory Lane, Classical, and Rob Kapilows What Makes It Great? The popular Choose Your Own Season package offers theater-goers a 10-percent discount and the flexibility to customize their own season with five or more performances of their choice if orders are placed by Friday, August 3.
